Conwy County is a county borough in the North-West of Wales.

The River Conwy, from which the county borough gets its name, lies wholly within the area.

One third of Conwy County borough is in the Snowdonia National Park. The largest part of the Denbigh Moors (Mynydd Hiraethog in Welsh) is also in Conwy County.

The majority of the population live on the coast. The only notable inland settlement is Llanrwst.

The 2001 Census revealed that 39.7% of the population have “one or more skills” in the Welsh language.
