Living By the Sea in North Wales
The seaside towns of North Wales are famous for summer visitors and many people who fall in love with them often wonder what it would be like to live here all year round.
In fact most people who decide to move to a totally different area have often only had a short stay there at a certain time of year. Sometimes this can give a very different view to the reality of living full-time in any given place.
As one of the leading estate agents dealing with all kinds of properties across a wide area in North Wales from the hills to the sea we know exactly why people are drawn to the idea of coastal living locally. In fact, we have helped hundreds of people make their dream of making a new home by the sea become a reality.
Seaside life
What most of us know about living by the sea is drawn on experiences of visits and holidays in the summertime to various different locations. Great family childhood memories and maybe late romantic ones too all play a part of how we build a picture of what it would be like to live on the coast.
The general ideal of a certain 'quality of life' usually seals the deal. However, as anyone who grew up in these places knows, the other three seasons of the year offer a completely different kind of appeal.
Local beauty
The wonderful scenery and many local attractions on the North Wales Coast means that there’s not one of those coastal locations that simply closes down outside of the warmer weather tourist season.
The northern section of the Wales Coast Path traverses the whole area, passing Flint and Conwy Castles and the magnificent beaches of all the major towns. In fact, winter is one of the most wonderful times of the year to experience the true beauty of what coastal living in our area offers.
Crisp winter walks along the beach at Rhyl are perfect for blowing the cobwebs away, while a more circular route taking in the coast and continuing further inland from Abergele is perfect for a winter hike.
Events
This year Prestatyn hosts a two day "Christmas extravaganza" event called 'Winter Fest' on the town's High Street during the weekend of November 25th and 26th.
Organised by Prestatyn Business Forum with the support of Prestatyn Town Council the aim is to encourage local shopping by highlighting the town's business and the services and goods they provide.
As well as craft stalls and other attractions, the festival will begin by the switching on the town's Christmas lights, and of course Father Christmas himself will be in attendance!
The Siopau Bach Winter Fayre in Rhyl also sees local businesses exhibit at a craft fair, with this year's event taking place on Sunday 12th November. The free fair is a great way to both support local sellers and also get to know the wider community, as well as getting some great gift ideas for Christmas.
Further along the coast in Conwy the Winter Exhibition at the Royal Cambrian Academy running from November 25th to the 30th of December celebrates visual arts through a lively exhibition and education programme.
All year round
Of course there's far more to coastal living in North Wales than glorious summer months and Festive winter events. Autumn and spring have their own special effects on the natural beauty of the local landscape too.
It's just that being estate agents we're always aware of how close Christmas is at this time of year and we want to make sure you're in your new home in time for the festive season...
If you'd like to know more about what it's like to live on the North Wales coast all year round just get in touch with us - we love telling people why the best way to be is by the sea!
