Estate agents in Prestatyn
The second biggest urban area in Denbighshire is Prestatyn. The name comes from Old English meaning 'priests' town'.
It's believed that the same location has been lived in since prehistoric times. Nearby boasts the second-largest neolithic mound in Britain, known as The Gop. There are also remains of Roman Baths that are still a popular attraction today.
Before the railway was built in the 19th century, it is thought it spent centuries as a fishing village. Prestatyn boomed as the railway provided easy access to the seaside. Dubbed 'Sunny Prestatyn', it became famous for its clean beaches and seaside entertainers.
In 1923, the Lido was constructed. It had a ballroom and outdoor swimming pool. Now known as Nova, there is still a swimming pool but also indoor play, a large gym, and space for events.
Just a ten-minute walk from Nova are the Gronant Dunes, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. You might even catch site of a flock of little terns, the only breeding ones in North Wales.
⦁ There are quite a few schools that cater from age three to age 11 as well as a couple of preschools. Prestatyn High School is for secondary school students.
