Rhyl is a seaside town on the North-East coast of Wales. It lies at the mouth of the River Clwyd.

It was once a popular Victorian resort and since 1990, there have been many major regeneration investments, including several millions of pounds from the European Union which was spent developing the seafront.

There are several Grade II listed landmarks and buildings including St. Thomas parish church, the railway station, the town hall, the Royal Alexandria Hospital, the Midland Bank building and the war memorial.

The Rhyl Air Show takes place in August every year and attracts thousands of visitors to the town. It is a completely free two-day event and features ground and air displays including the RAF Red Arrows.

Rhyl is surrounded by award-winning beaches. Rhyl Central beach is around 2 miles long and has a Seaside Award.

Rhyl’s most famous former resident is actor Spencer Wilding, who played Darth Vader in the Star Wars film Rogue One and several characters in Doctor Who.

Rhyl has a thriving football club called CPD Y RHYL 1879, a rugby club called Rhyl and District RFC and the East Parade Bowls Club.

Five out of the seven junior schools in Rhyl have been rated outstanding by OFSTED and the secondary school is rated good.
